Crow Collection of Asian Art
2010 Flora St., Dallas, TX 75201

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Turn those tax returns in, breathe a sigh of relief and head to the Crow Collection of Asian Art for OHM After Dark from 6 p.m. – midnight Friday, April 15. In the spirit of aligning mind, body, heart and art, this month’s free event highlights the Crow Collection’s newest Wellness program, which offers guests weekly ways to renew their inner chi in one of the most serene settings in the Dallas Arts District. Special activities will include glow-in-the-dark yoga under the stars, yoga for little ones, origami art, dream interpretation, bubble tea sampling, late-night karaoke, beer tastings and more.

See students of Eng Khoo demonstrate the slow, concentrated movements of tai chi from 6 – 6:30 p.m. In the spirit of “upcycling” (transforming old materials into something new), create origami cranes using newspaper from 6 – 8 p.m. The beautiful paper birds will be part of the thousand cranes exhibit, which will be on display this spring in the Crow Collection’s Sky Bridge gallery.

At 6:30 p.m., wee ones (ages 2 and up) and their favorite grown-ups can get their yoga on at Yogiños: Yoga for Youth™. Facilitated in English, Spanish, and Sanskrit, this yoga-for-kids program teaches healthy choices using music, games, stories, and sensory-integrated activities. Bring a mat, or check one out from the Crow Collection.

At 7 p.m. enjoy a screening of Titans of Yoga when, for the first time ever, 25 of the most prominent figures in the worlds of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, share their life experiences as they embark on a journey of self-discovery (72 minutes; not rated). Go outside for glow-in-the-dark yoga under the stars on Flora Street at 8 p.m. If nighttime yoga doesn't chill your chi, listen in on the lecture Tibetan Clear Light Dreams and to Golbahar Dadya from the School of Metaphysics as she discusses the semantics and beliefs of Asian dreams at 9 p.m. Following the lecture, you will get a chance to have your dreams interpreted!

Late-nighters, hang around for multimedia karaoke with DJ Mark Ridlen while sampling complimentary Asian beers from 10 – 11:30 p.m. (must be 21 with valid ID, supplies limited). Close the evening with hypnotic, calming candle light meditation with Golbahar Dadya (space limited).

Admission is free. No reservations required. In the event of rain, outdoor activities may be moved indoors. Complimentary Chill Bubble Tea tastings will be offered from 6 – 9 p.m. (limited supplies). Full-sized beverages may be purchased for $3.
